The Ball Kickers Strike Back?

The Ball Kickers United (BKU), not the same team that gave the Annihilators fits in the Summer season, but the School's-Out League Champions faced the Recess League Champions last night. I am sad to report that the Ball Kickers United team emerged victorious in both games. I did not have the privilege of watching these two championship teams face-off, but from what I gathered this Ball Kicker team is a talented one who are already poised, in week 2 of this 5-week season to take home another championship.

It is worth noting that the talented Annihilator team was missing some of its key players for this big game. Star first-baseman Rob Feguer was absent, along with Jacob Fazekas.

Summer-season part-time kickball star, Ken Federeau, who has been MIA due to a knee injury received a positive diagnosis from his orthopedic surgeon recently and may actually see some kickball action this fall.

Unrelated: I attended the recent Grand River Connection meeting at Spartan Stadium. It was an interesting experience. There were many young professionals from every field imaginable there. Most of the people I met with were extremely friendly, but there were a few pretentious bastards there as well. Altogether the overall experience was a positive one and I will definitely attend future events.

Seein' Red

The One-Kick Wonders, School's Out League runner-up in the Summer Season, were Seein' Red after the Recess League Champion, Annihilators swept the two-game series.

Way to go, Champs! Do I smell a repeat?

The Kickin' Systems squad was also Seein' Red on Tuesday night, but not at the hands of the Annihilators. Two players drew blood in sliding incidents and one player is believed to have broken his leg in his first professional kickball game.

Surgeon General's Warning:
Kickball is not for the faint of heart, and may result in serious injury. Those pregnant and nursing should not attempt to play kickball. If on kickball, you should not operate heavy machinery as there is good chance you may injure other players.

2008 Fall Kickball Season

It's official, Kickball fans. The Delta Township Fall 2008 Kickball season officially starts today.
The Summer Recess-League Champions, The Annihilators, have found themselves amidst some fierce competition this season. Although it does not appear that they will have to compete with their Summer season rivals, The Ball Kickers, they will face new opposition from the Summer School's Out League Champions, Ball Kickers United (BKU), an impressive Delta Township team that was the runner-up to BKU last season, and a completely revamped Kickin' Systems team under new coach Bob McCleery.

Rumor-mill: The restructured Kickin' Systems team has apparently been working on a new team name. Stay tuned for further details. There is also rumor of a sixth mystery team that has recently joined the Fall Tuesday night league.

Spoiler alert: Look for Annihilator, Jacob Fazekas, to play a pivotal role this season. Last season Jacob played only ten innings due to scheduling issues, but this veteran of the Meridian Township league has got mad skillz.

A Kickball Tragedy

An inaugural Summer Kickball season has left Annihilator, Ken Federeau, with what is believed to be a torn meniscus. He is scheduled to have an MRI tomorrow morning to find out for sure, but it is nearly certain that he will miss the entire Fall Kickball season.

The meniscus, for those who don't know, is the cartilage in the knee area behind the patella, which cannot be removed under any circumstances.

U.S. Men's Swimming 4 X 100 Relay Team Compared to Championship Kickball team, The Annihilators

The U.S. men's 4 x 100 swimming relay team achieved gold last night, beating the much favored French team.

Their great victory has been compared, by me, to the triumphant win of The Annihilators over The Ball Kickers in the Delta Township Recess League Championship kickball game.

UFC Results

This is not terribly Kickball related, but my brother and I just returned from the UFC pay-per-view. I have to say I was quite a bit disappointed. Three of the potentially best fights of the year were on tonight's card. Two of those three fights, although well fought, ended in decisions. The third ended in a decision, but there was no fighting at all to mention.

The results are:

George St. Pierre def. Jon Fitch by unanimous decision in 5 rounds

Brock Lesnar def. Heath Herring by unanimous decision in 3 rounds

Kenny (Kenflo) Florian def. Roger Huerta by decision in 3 rounds

The fight of the night in my opinion was the first fight between Jason "the Athlete" Macdonald and some other guy. This was an intense fight that went back and forth for three rounds, but "some other guy" won it.

Peace and I'm out Kickball/Fight fans

Kickball Superstars at Champps tonight to watch UFC Fight

At least two local celebs from the Delta Township Adult Kickball league will be at Champps Sports Bar in the Eastwood Town Centre, tonight to watch the UFC pay per view. Ken Federeau from the Annihilators and his brother, Chris Federeau, player/coach, from the Kickin' Systems squad will be there. A surprise appearance by the Annihilators all-star first-baseman Rob Feguer has been rumored.

St. Johns Mint Festival Kickball Tourney

Although Delta Township will not be represented in the Kickball Tournament in St. Johns this year, I still encourage anyone who can make it to the Mint Festival to check out the action of Adult Kickball.

The 2008 Fall Kickball Season is Shaping Up to be an Interesting One.

The latest news in the world of kickball, is that despite early pre-season rumors that the Kickin' Systems team would be divided into two teams for the fall, they have decided to remain one team with many off-season additions.

Due to rigorous scouting techniques by summer season coach, Chris Federeau (Underwriting Systems), and star pitcher, Bob McCleery (Actuarial), the two were unable to establish their own departmental teams and now appear to be overstaffed for the 2008 fall season and may have to turn players away.

I Got A Fever, and the Only Prescription is More KICKBALL!

The excitement is mounting for Delta Township's 2008 Fall Season. Early projections show the possibility of as many as 6 teams from Auto-Owners Insurance alone.

2008 Summer Recess League champs, The Annihilators, are resting up from a rough first season, but look poised to repeat their winning ways.

Delta Township Summer 2008 Recess League Champions!

Congratulations to the Annihilators!

This team comprised mostly of accountants from Auto-Owners Insurance Company finished the 2008 Summer League season with an 8-1 record. There were five teams in the inaugural season, the Annihilators, Kickin' Systems, the Kansas City Hotsteppers, the Ball Kickers, and the Great Root-Bears. The first three teams all represented Auto-Owners Insurance.

The season was decided by a playoff game between the Annihilators and the Ball Kickers, in which the Annihilators, although missing their all-star second-baseman, edged-out the Ball Kickers 4-2.
